A newly released trailer for Child of Light confirms that the digital RPG will be available for download on April 30, 2014.
Inspired by Japanese role-playing games, specially Final Fantasy VI, Child of Light will cost $15; regardless of whether you buy it on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U or PC.
The story follows a young princess named Aurora who is mysteriously taken away to the land of Lemuria, a place where all the citizens have been turned into crows. Accompanied by her magical blue orb companion Igniculus, Aurora decides on venturing forward to discover the cause of this curse and if it can be reversed.
Child of Light was created by a small internal team at Ubisoft and headed by Far Cry 3 Creative Director Patrick Plourde. The game is powered by Ubisoft’s UbiArt Framework, the engine that also powered Rayman Legends and Origins, as well as the upcoming Valiant Hearts.
It looks to be a really colorful title, with stunning visuals and a classic battle system that makes for an entertaining multiplayer as well. The turn-based battles might not be to everyone’s liking but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give the game a try.
