Japan is getting blessed with a limited edition Nintendo 3DS XL for the release of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. According to Gematsu, fans can score this bundle for 23,000 yen, which is approximately $226.
For your money, you’ll get a custom black handheld, with a golden foreground of Final Fantasy characters that are hand-in-hand. In the background, a pattern of Moogles and Chocobos are separated by crystals.
It sounds like Nintendo and Square Enix are expecting the bundles to deplete quickly, as you’ll be able to pre-order through a raffle. Starting February 20, interested parties can sign up, until February 25, 2014. After that, the winners will be selected and contacted on February 28, 2014.
In Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, you’ll walk through a list of musical numbers of the franchise with super deformed characters. This 3DS exclusive is a rhythm game, where tapping and sliding at the appropriatey given time launches attacks, seen in the traditional toe-to-toe display.
Curtain Call will feature over 200 songs and 60 characters from the Final Fantasy iterations throughout the years. It will release on April 24, 2014 for Nintendo 3DS in Japan. Sadly, there isn’t a Western release planned yet.
With Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call being a sequel, you’d imagine the first release would’ve gotten all the best songs out already, certainly after extra downloadable content. Its fast-paced rhythm action paired with cute illustrations certainly is worth a second go though.
