Today Gearbox has announced that Borderlands 2’s next Valentine’s Day themed DLC ‘Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre will arrive on February 11, 2014 for just $2.99.
This DLC will be the fourth of the five Headhunter DLC for the game, and like all the Headhunters packs before, it will unlock a unique head and skin for beating the DLC’s boss with each of the characters, and the fight can be fought repeatedly with increasing difficulty.
Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre revisits the rivalry between Borderlands 2’s Hodunk and Zaford families, who were last seen in the main game’s Clan War mission. This time, a Goliath from each family will soon be married, and Moxxi has the Vault Hunters gather ingredients to make a love potion to guarantee that things go smoothly.
Gearbox also confirmed today that the fifth Headhunter pack of the series, Sir Hammelock and the Son of Crawmerax will be releasing this April. That pack will mark the final DLC for Borderlands 2, nearly 18 months after the game was originally released in September 2012.
The previous Headhunters pack included TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest in October, The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler in November, and How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day in December.
Good news for the PlayStation Vita fans as the Borderlands 2 has been confirmed to release on the handheld. No further announcements were made regarding the PS Vita version.
Take-Two reported $578 million in profits for the quarter ending December 2013, mostly due to the success of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Borderlands 2.
