Star Wars the Old Republic is still alive and kicking and more so, the developer is planning updates and multiple expansions for the game in the future too.
A new post on the game’s official website appeared yesterday attending to the prevailing questions about the future of the game.
Senior Producer Bruce Maclean writes:
As I write this we are actively developing all of the above as well as PvP Seasons, new Flashpoints, new Operations, new gear, performance improvements, and changes coming to Classes.
Expect to see two digital expansions in 2014 just like you did last year, with one similar to Galactic Starfighter in scope and one more closely resembling Rise of the Hutt Cartel.
The two planned expansions come in addition to the PvP seasons, new content and improvements mentioned above. Other than this, Star Wars the Old Republic will get its first update of 2014 today i.e. February 4, 2014.
In the future, you can look forward to a Double XP Weekend between March 14 and March 17. This will be followed by the Update 2.7 on April 8, 2014 and the Update 2.8 on June 10, 2014.
At the end of the post it was announced that the period between minor patches will be increased from three weeks to two weeks. Naturally leading to a nine-week period between the major content updates.
More details will follow in the coming days, and I suggest you keep checking back for more.
