Publisher Kasedo Games has announced that its strategy title Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar will be playable on PC for the first time on February 12, 2014 through Steam Early Access. It gives fans of the genre and era a way to hop into the Beta at a discounted price.
While the game is in “advanced state of completion,” it should be noted that those not wanting to encounter any restrictions should wait for the full release. Additionally, this version is missing some of its planned content.
So far, Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar offers two campaign chapters, with two more to come. These will come from the events written down in the classic Commentarii de Bello Gallico.
You’ll be able to set up a camp and expand your control over the European continent at “thousands of sites.” From simple walls, you’ll eventually erect entire forts and cities.
An army can be amassed with trained officers and advanced units. In turn, governors can be appointed and improved as well.
Supply lines will matter in the strategy game. Having full control of the logistics needed on the terrain will allow you to starve your opponent.
Further on in development, there will be a sandbox mode for your conquering thirst to be quenched. Localized languages and voice recordings will be added to the game as well.
No price point is known for the Steam Early Access build of Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar yet. As Kasedo Games is a budget range of digital titles from Kalypso Media, however, it is capped at a maximum price of less than €30.
