Rumor: Disney Infinity 2 Coming to Xbox One and PS4

By   /   Feb 4, 2014

The sequel to a very popular Disney Infinity may be in development, according to the Wall Street Journal and a recently released job listing.

There was a post on the Disnep Careers website that is advertising for game testers to work at the Avalanche Software for 4-5 months. Avalanche was the studio behind the original Disney Infinity, and there doesn’t seem to be any more content in development for the game.

So it is safe to assume that the listing that has appeared might be related to the next game in series.

There is also one more condition that wants all the applicants to be familiar with “Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Wii U”, this would mean that the game which will be tested is new rather than an update to the existing Disney Infinity.

The best part of the journal was that it claims that this newer version of Disney Infinity will be featuring characters from two hugely popular entities “Star Wars and Marvel”.

Journal also states that Disney Interactive, which currently employs over 3000 employees, is preparing to layoff several hundred people despite the success rate of Disney Infinity. They’re expected to begin after the company releases its quarterly financial results on Wednesday.

People who are unfamiliar with the game should know that Disney Infinity is an action-adventure game with physical toys, open world creation and story driven gameplay. Characters, play-sets and other features are brought into the game using figurines and discs with the included Infinity Base.

With the exception of non-humanoid characters, such as those from the Cars series, each character has a double jump and a default set of attacks, as well as an ability unique to each figure.

The game was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS in August 2013. A PC version of Toy Box was also released on November 14, 2013. Now, are your ready for Disney Infinity 2, especially in Xbox One and PS4?
