Lucario Has Made it to the Roster of Super Smash Bros. 4

The 22nd character for Super Smash Bros. 4 has just been confirmed and it’s none other than Lucario – The Aura Warrior from Pokemon franchise.

Those who have been following this brawler will remember seeing this Fighting-Steel Type Pokemon in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Lucario used to be considered as one of the strongest character in the game; especially at low HP.

Lucario’s signature Aura move is pretty weak to begin with but once player starts to take damage from their opponents; things start to get real messy.

So it’s a good strategy to take damage in the beginning and then make a comeback. However, you will have to play a lot safer than before.

While announcing Lucario’s incursion in the roster, the game’s director; Mr. Sakurai told that Lucario’s Aura move has been boosted up more than ever:

“The heroic Aura Pokemon, Lucario, joins the battle!! We’ve increased the influence of Aura this time. So a damaged Lucario is truly a force to be reckoned with.”

Furthermore, he praised the efforts of the team in expanding the roster of the game:

“Lucario joined the battle for the first time in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which was released six years ago. The production staff of Brawl worked really hard to expand the character roster–without their efforts, Lucario probably never would have joined the battle.”

The game’s official Japanese Website has also released several Lucario concept-arts both for Wii U and 3Ds.

Although we have confirmation about Aura, we still don’t know whether Lucario will undergo Mega Evolution or not. The released concept-arts don’t showcase anything like that. I would love to see it, would you?

A joint venture of Nintendo and Namco Bandai, Super Smash Bros. 4 is expected to release somewhere in 2014 for Wii U and 3DS.
