The Director of 1980 themed Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Dean Evans, is in early stages of planning a new, unannounced Ubisoft Project.
In an interview with Polygon Dean Evans describes the game as his ‘Dream Project’. He says that he has successfully recruited two members in Ubisoft, concept artist Darren Bartley and a well-known art director with experience on AAA stealth and third person shooters.
“These are two guys I’ve wanted to work with for a very long time, and because of how Blood Dragon went down, I’ve got the trust from the guys upstairs [at Ubisoft] to go and build a compelling and unique universe.”
Nobody thought that Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon would be a success, but it turned out to be an awesome standalone downloadable title. This new project does look quite intriguing and with Ubisoft’s approval, we can be sure that it can turn out to be another great franchise from the studio.
Evans said he wants to appeal to the people who don’t game at all with this project:
The audience I’m interested in speaking to is people that dismiss games and don’t consider themselves gamers. There is so much we can do to bring new gamers into the fold, but we’re constantly putting up barriers all the fucking time.
This statement gets me prepped for this new game. Evans might just come up with another crazy idea to get people’s attention. However, despite all the excitement project could still “go out of the window” depending on the Ubisoft’s performance in the coming months.
