Nintendo is Going Mobile, Just Not the Way you Think

Great news at least to some extent; we have picked up word that Nintendo might be working its way to the mobile gaming world. A report published in a Japanese Newspaper, Nikkei, has detailed that the gaming giant might be spreading its wings in newer dimensions.

What all of us could have seen as a major change in the scenario would have been if they had decided to make core Nintendo games specifically for mobile. What they are doing on the other hand is, they will use mobile phones to market their upcoming console games through demos.

So no, do not expect them to put Mario and Pokemon on your smartphone.

Yes you might see free mini games that will be nothing more than demos of any game in one of the famous universes of home consoles or 3DS games. It has also been said that the minigames will come with an ability to purchase the full game for your console if you like the experience on the smartphone.

If you have followed news regarding the company, something similar was hinted by the president of Nintendo America back in 2013: We’re also doing a lot of experimentation of what I would call the little experiences you can have on your smartphone and tablet that will drive you back to your Nintendo hardware.”

He had further added, “It’s largely going to be much more marketing activity-oriented, but we’ve done little things where there’s some element of gameplay — a movement, a shaking, something like that.”

In the end, do remember that apart from the above statement, all this is based on speculation and as far as the official word is concerned, it’s nothing but a rumor. Nothing has been confirmed by Nintendo in this regard so far.
