Don’t Starve is survival horror game for the PlayStation 4 and PC by Klei Entertainment and has made a huge name for itself really fast since its release last year.
The game is increasing in popularity especially after it was made available on the PS4 earlier this month.
A lot of people were expecting that the game will be patched with Co-op or multiplayer very soon. Well unfortunately, the developers at Klei have confirmed that this is not going to be the case.
The designer of Don’t Starve, Kevin Forbes said:
“We discussed this a lot internally during the early access phase, and we came to the conclusion that it didn’t fit with our vision for the game, and it would divert development resources from the experience we were trying to create.”
It is not common for survival horror games to feature any multiplayer, as they are meant to be played alone. Talking about the game’s recent release on the PS4, Forbes said:
“There are a lot of gamers that don’t play PC games so getting on to a console meant bringing our game to a huge new audience. I’m pretty happy when more people are playing Don’t Starve. I think that PS Plus made a lot of people who wouldn’t have otherwise tried a game like Don’t Starve give it a shot.”
It is true as some of the indie games don’t get so much of a spotlight on the PC. They can however shine bright on the consoles because consoles are bought for the sole purpose of ‘gaming’ (well mostly).
The game has sold over 1 million copies by the end of 2013. It has an impressive Metacritic score of 79. If you haven’t played it already and you own a PS4, now is your chance to play this incredible game.
