A French publication, Xboxygen has stated that Titanfall is slated to enter beta on February 14, 2014 until February 19.
The publication further states that the closed beta will launch on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Furthermore, the beta will only be available from Zappos in France and Gamestop in the United States.
This can very well be true as numerous Origin users have claimed getting an invitation from Electronic Arts. A Twitter user Lazer Odic posted an image of email that he received:
Several people contacted Respawn Entertainment to clarify the matter and they simply called it a ‘Limited Technical Test’ instead of a beta:
“As some of you are asking, we are doing a limited technical test. It is not a beta, and we don’t have any beta news at the moment.”
In other Titanfall news, Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the game will NOT feature a split-screen mode which might be huge disappointment for FPS fans. If you happen to play Call of Duty online then you may have experienced bumping into some split-screeners every now and then.
It looks like you will have to buy a separate console/PC with a separate monitor to play with your friends.
As of now, there is no confirmation from either EA or Respawn Entertainment. Titanfall is slated to release on March 11, 2014 for PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
