Sony Planning to Reveal The “Slimmest” Launch in its History
Sony is sending out press invites to selected parties who are invited to an exclusive breakfast briefing at the end of the month.
According to the invitation received by IGN, Sony is planning on introducing the “Slimmest” launch in PlayStation history. There isn’t any solid information on what the company is planning for the month’s end. The invitation only contains the following tease: “Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.”
It’s highly unlikely ofcourse that Sony would be pushing out a PlayStation 4 Slim model. What is likely, is that the announcement could be related to the new PlayStation Vita Slim that is currently only available in Japan.
The new handheld model is 20 percent thinner than before and also 15 percent light. It replaces the original OLED screen with a 5-inch LCD display, which helps the battery to last up to an extra hour.
In Japan it is available in six different colors. We’ll have to see if the same colors are available here, provided that Sony’s announcement is bringing the new Vita to western shores.
This is pure speculation though and Sony could be planning something entirely different. With PlayStation 4 boasting Vita-Play with almost every title, it makes sense to introduce the newer improved model.
