Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD edition is slated to release on Steam on February 28, 2014 for $19.99. And it looks like Capcom is urging you to buy the game with all those fancy 1080p in-game screenshots and gameplay trailers.
In addition to higher resolutions and better textures, the game will run at 60 Frames per Second and will feature numerous Steam functionalities like Cloud Saves, Steam Leaderboards, and Trading Cards.
With games now moving to higher resolutions such as 4K, 1080p does not look like a big deal. And keeping this in mind, Capcom has assured that the game will be able to take things up to 2560×1600 or 260×1440 but may cost some performance issues. Therefore, these resolutions are not recommended!
The game was also ported to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 but failed to achieve remarkable scores when compared to the original Nintendo Gamecube release which managed to receive a whopping 96 on Metacritic.
Pre-purchasing the game will not only get you the game itself but also:
- 62 track digital music album mastered in 320 Kbps/48 KHz MP3 format
- 80+ page digital archive (English language) featuring characters, story, and concept art.
Furthermore, the Ultimate HD version will also get you all the bonus content from the original game such as Ada-centric bonus chapter; Separate Ways.
Check out the images below and let us know what you think about them! As for the gameplay trailer, download it here since the YouTube videos are locked to 30 Frames per Second.
