DayZ Standalone Increasing In Difficulty With Introduction of New Vehicles
Zombie survival mod DayZ is going to be increasing in difficulty once the game gets new vehicles and weapons.
Dean Hall, creator of the game, confirmed the news in a recent Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) where he said that “the plan is to increase the difficulty significantly as new functionality comes online (such as throwing and improvised weapons, hunting, bow and arrow.”
Hall continued saying that the introduction of new vehicles will be similar to the current in-game architecture; allowing for attachments to be made. He also revealed that the physics system for items (throwing, etc…) will be replaced and “this new middleware will be used for vehicles also.”
“Bases will take longer. Barricades will happen first,” he said. “I think helicopters and small aircraft will be important. But they should be very complex to maintain.”
The AMA also revealed that the game’s standalone version is still 80 percent away from being finished. That’s a bummer, seeing that many were hoping it to be released last year or early this year. From the looks of it, DayZ Standalone version may not officially release even this year.
Over one million copies of DayZ were sold within the first four weeks of the game’s Early Access launch. The title’s alpha released in late December for Windows PC for $29.99.
