World of Tanks Crosses One Million Concurrent Players, Improvements Planned For 2014
It seems like wargaming.net has no plans of slowing down when it comes to the number of active players that are joining the World of Tanks gaming scenario.
Wargaming has recently announced that the game hit a new high: one million concurrent users!
Andrei Yarantsau the vice president of publishing at Wargaming explained the dedication that players have had with the World of Tanks in the past couple of months:
In 2013, we put a great amount of effort into growing World of Tanks, enriching it with new gameplay features and content.
Tankmen on the Russian servers all play at different times of the day and although their overall number has long since surpassed several million daily active users, the PCCU has been hovering around 900,000 gamers for the past few months.
Finally, we’ve breached the one million mark. We are set to scale even greater heights with considerable improvements planned for World of Tanks in 2014.
To be exact, the free to play multiplayer title by the Belarusian developer hit 1,114,000 simultaneous players on its Russian servers on January 19, 2014. This is a new record!
From the 60 million registered users that the game had back in June 2013, the figure has now inflated to 75 million users.
Agreeably, the figure of 1.1 million does look huge, and it does prove that World of Tanks has one of the largest gaming communities. However, it is nothing if you compare it to the enthroned ‘League of Legends, which has around 5 million.
