The PlayStation 4 is back in stock at GameStop retailers across US, which will come as good news for those who have been waiting out following a sudden shortage of units during Christmas month.
According to an announcement made by the retailer, GameStop has been in constant contact with Sony during December and working with them to receive more units to satisfy the high consumer demand. This latest batch though is still in “limited” supply and it wouldn’t be surprising if it sold out quickly as well.
“As expected, we experienced tremendous customer demand for the new PS4 console during the initial launch and throughout the holiday season, selling out of the consoles just as quickly as we could stock them,” GameStop senior merchant Darron Nielsen said. “We have been working closely with Sony to replenish our inventory levels of the PS4 as quickly as possible to ensure the many customers still looking to purchase one are able to do so.”
The retailer will be selling the new stock on a first-come, first-served basis. Of course there must be thousands of pre-orders already in there so if you’re not one of them, you better make a quick trip to the nearest retailer.
The PlayStation 4 was in high-demand last year during the holiday month but despite short supply, it managed to sell 4.2 million units worldwide. The Xbox One, on the other hand, remains in stock at GameStop and in comparison sold an impressive 3 million units.
