La Mulana 2 Kicks off Kickstarter Campaign

Do you remember the 2D side scroller from 2005? Well, it is back with a sequel. La Mulana 2 was announced couple of months back and the developer is now asking for your help on the project on Kickstarter.

The developer, NIGORO believes in 2D games just like La Mulana 2 and insists that the sequel needs your support and “play a part in helping Japan regain its position as a fundamental part of the gaming world stage.” Naramura, the director of NIGORO says:

I believe in the potential indie games have in Japan. That’s why we’re based here. However, I don’t believe Japanese sales alone will amount to a number we can honestly call a success. For this reason, funding for translation and travel abroad are essential.

Furthermore, he insisted that although many would consider $200,000 to be too high for an indie game, it was the least that their project could work with. “We want LA-MULANA 2 to be a product of amazing quality,” he added.

Coming to the game itself, you will take on the role of Lumisa Kosugi to fight boss creatures known as Guardians in the ruins of Eg-Lana. The game is being developed for PC at the moment.

The stretch goals of Kickstarter range from $200,000 to $2.7 million. The least of them will get a Twitch TV curry party – alright. The last stretch goal would lead to mod tools creation so that players can create their own experiences in the La Mulana 2 world.

I’m sure many of you are going to jump on the opportunity to buy La Mulana 2, are you?
