As promised, earlier this month, Blizzard has released a pre-download app for Diablo III that will help downloading its upcoming expansion Reaper of Souls in the background.
According to the post made on Battle.net, the background download app will make the patching a faster process which is around 6GB in size.
By making this data available early, you’ll have less to download once the pre-expansion patch and expansion are released,” the post reads. “The background download data is encrypted and won’t make any changes to the live game or Battle.net service until patch 2.0.1 and Reaper of Souls launch.
Diablo 3 players can relax in the sense that they can play their normal while and get the same in-game experience. As stated by Blizzard, this app will not make any new changes to your current game; well at least until Reaper of Souls is launched.
Note that the app requires your game to be patched to the latest build.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls was announced last year in August and is scheduled for release on March 25, 2014. It’s the first expansion pack for the game and will introduce a new Crusader class, increase the game’s level cap to 70, introduce new enemies and more.
