King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North Gets First DLC ‘Ice And Fire’ On January 30

Kings Bounty
If you dabble in PC games and you enjoyed playing King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North, then you’ll be pleased to know there’s an Ice and Fire expansion on the way.

Russian publisher 1C Company announced that this downloadable content (DLC) will arrive this month, on Januray 30, 2014.

In this game, the hero Olaf travels to a small island that seems to be covered in snow. Perhaps that’s why it’s populated by Snow Elves. Their name gives it away.

Ice and Fire will provide over 20 hours of new gameplay elements. Moreover, creatures from the original game will receive some tweaks.

Aside from the Snow Elves race, this strategic roleplaying game (RPG) will also introduce Necrolizards. These undead combine reptilian traits into their appearance.

If you’re worried about just trudging through the same thing again, rest easy. In Fire and Ice, you’ll also encounter over 20 new creatures.

As an additional mechanism, units will be able to employ their own skill system. You fight, they grow.

King’s Bounty is a sizable franchise revolving around turn-based fights set in an RPG hub, quite like Might & Magic games. Players recruit an army of different unit types, then duke it out in a hex tile grid.

Raise your hand if you think the Ice and Fire DLC is trying to ride the coattails of Game of Thrones’ recent rise to fame.
