Tactical shooter from the Tom Clancy’s series, Ghost Recon Online has been in an open beta state since August 2012. It is time that the game sees the light of day in the open market, so developer Ubisoft Singapore has announced the game’s arrival to Steam through Early Access.
Corey Facteau, producer at Ubisoft states that bringing Ghost Recon Online to Steam has been their ultimate goal since the game was conceived. Furthermore, he insisted that the Steam Early Access was crucial to the transition of the game to the new platform:
As the top shooter for gamers who enjoy team gameplay, we have also seen our audience expand to include MOBA fans, who comprise fifty percent of our user base. To ensure a seamless transition to the new platform, we will use Early Access to fine tune the Ghost Recon Online experience before releasing it to the rest of the world.
Ghost Recon Online is a free-to-play, online only, third person tactical shooter that has been in development since May 2011. The game is now available in Canada and the worldwide release is expected this spring.
For those of you who don’t know much about the game, it takes up a team based gameplay where you fight in 8 vs. 8 class-based online battles. the key classes being Assault, Recon and Specialist.
