Men of War: Assault Squad 2 Drops On PC In February With In-Game Recording, Reworked Missions And More
Warmongers prepare, as Russian publisher 1C Company has announced that Men of War: Assault Squad 2 will release for PC on February 20, 2014.
This is the latest addition to the sizable franchise started in 2009 with the original Men of War.
Normally, these war games play out in traditional real-time strategy systems, where players command an entire army from above. In the Assault Squad line, however, you go right into the action and take control of one unit inside of a battle.
Assault Squad 2 will feature 15 new missions, ranging from stealthy sniper action to operating a tank. Additionally, 25 missions from the original release will be reworked.
There are also extensive multiplayer options present. Cooperative modes will allow eight players to stick together, versus 8 others. A one-on-one is available as well, as are 4 to four fights. A total of 65 multiplayer maps are available in five different game modes.
To give you some choice, Assault Squad 2 includes approximately 250 vehicles and 200 soldiers, each with their own qualities, spanning over five factions.
On the technical side of things, 1C Company promises improved visuals, with multi-core support and advanced shader technology. Artificial intelligence will receive an update as well.
Restructuring is applied to the multiplayer interface and inventory tab. This game will also use a leveling and ranking system for players.
With the Steam inclusion, you’ll also be able to access their workshop for more content, made by a map and mission editor. There’s also mention of in-game video recording, which could be interesting for content creators.
Preorders for Men of War: Assault Squad 2 are up on Steam now and get a 20% discount. If you own the original Assault Squad, however, you’ll receive an additional 10% price cut. Normally, Men of War: Assault Squad 2 would cost €34.99 or $39.99.
