Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is being released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC; the latter platform of which is being said to be “almost like next-gen.”
Those fidgeting over whether Lords of Shadow 2 would be a plain port over to the Windows platform can rest with ease. During a recent interview session, Konami producer Dave Cox praised the PC version of the game, which according to him can stand up to the PS4 and Xbox One games.
The PC version is almost like a next-gen version,” Cox said. “The limitations of the [Xbox 360 and PS3]…we can push that back. We designed the game engine for next-gen in mind. We knew that this would be the last game we did on current-gen, so in many ways the PC version is almost like a test run for us.
Yesterday, Lords of Shadow 2 developer Mercury Steam revealed that it is currently working on a new game for the next-gen. The new project is not related to Castlevania but instead Cox hinted about a possible new Contra title. Though nothing is confirmed at this point. What is confirmed is that the title will not release for the Wii U.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will release on February 25, 2014 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
