Publisher Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Pirates game on mobile devices has received its first large update. This portable platform spinoff will add more content for players to engage in.

First off, you’ll be able to access a new map in the game. It should lead to new environments to explore.

Furthermore, a new story mission is attached to the update. It branches off into 10 side missions, which you’re free to go on as well. It should aid you in finding new treasures. Also, there are new ships to unlock.

This addition also includes the notorious pirate Charles Vane, which plays a central role in the main game of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. There, he’s one of the commanding captains in the pirate town, fighting for their liberty. Weird things happen to him. Go play that game right now to find out.

In the new Nassau map, the challenge rating is spiked up, to give experienced seaman something to get excited about. New defense and escape mechanisms are applied to fights. Moreover, you’ll now be able to destroy cannon shots while they’re in flight, and it’s possible to retaliate as well.

Finally, players are no longer bound to a singleplayer experience with this update. A social feature is implemented that allows you to see friend and foe and compare yourself to them.

Assassin’s Creed Pirates launched in December. You mostly partake in the naval battles known from the main game. It’s currently out on both iOS and Android devices.
