There’s a new trailer out for Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks!, which features some of its story. It will involve a narrative that goes into the future.
In the clip, the great grandson of Mark Evans guards the goal against an opposing team that can fly. The Inazuma series blends football with superhuman skills in an anime setting.
Anything else in the clip is just a plot device to announce its release date, though it’s nice to give the characters blatantly British accents. Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks! will release on February 14, 2014 on Nintendo 3DS. We don’t advise buying this as the perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
Gameplay in these games transition from spectacular sports events to a top down exploration of its locations. It has the same features as any roleplaying game, except this one happens to involve soccer.
You can pre-order the game on the UK Nintendo Store now for £29.99. It’s possible to play this one in multiplayer.
Perhaps the Inazuma series aren’t the most popular games from developer Level-5, also responsible for the Professor Layton franchise, but they do offer a nice blend of mechanisms.
This style of merging together great feats with football stems from manga roots with series such as Captain Tsubasa, which later also received a TV series broadcast worldwide.
Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks! will complement previous releases, Lightning Bolt and Bomb Blast.
