Somebody’s going to be mad if this one’s true; but Gamereactor has reported that the latest installment in the Tom Clancy’s game series, The Division might have been pushed forward to 2015.
The German website has reported on authority of an anonymous source that claims to be from within Ubisoft Massive. Right now that is all we have been told and naturally Ubisoft has not reacted on it so far so make of it whatever you think.
As far as the report by Gamereactor is concerned, it states that the apparent inside informer has said that:
“The game engine works well; it is not clear but works well. Actual game development has barely begun, however. The fact that Ubisoft issued a 2014 release date seems laughable if I’ll be completely honest, we will never have time to release The Division this year. This is a big project; we have very far to go …”
If it is true (I hope to God it is not) then it means there is something seriously wrong with the folks at Ubisoft. Those of you who have been following the news in the recent weeks would remember how The Crew and more importantly Watch Dogs was delayed. Also, Rainbow Six: Patriots is being restarted from scratch.
We honestly hope that Ubisoft comes up with a straight no in an answer to this but we do not expect them to react on mere rumors and speculation so I guess we will have to wait for the right time.
