Picture Left 4 Dead, only visually more appealing and featuring aliens instead of zombies. It’s called ‘Evolve’ and is the new co-op shooter from Turtle Rock Studios, the creator of Left 4 Dead.
Set in a sci-fi world, players will partner up with three of their friends to annihilate the alien menace. If you’re into a more competitive challenge, then there’s the game’s “hunt” mode, where four alien hunters will team up against an alien behemoth being controlled by a fifth player.
As the multiplayer rounds progress, the creature will only grow in size and strength, making it vital for the human players to shut it down as soon as possible.
Evolve was originally going to be published by THQ but following the company’s downfall in December 2012, the title was picked up in the auction by 2K Games in January 2013 for $10.8 million.
The game is Game Informer’s February cover edition and you can see all the details the magazine’s February 2014 issue.
“Evolve is being built with variety and replayabilty in mind; the result is a novel mix of cooperative and competitive multiplayer elements that’s unlike anything we’ve played before,” said GI.
Evolve is scheduled for release this fall on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
