The upcoming HD remakes of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 have been outsourced to Chinese company Virtuos, the developer has announced.
According to an update on the company’s website, it said that the project was “a new milestone” for the team and “its biggest project to date.”
The same company worked on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the title.
Not only that but it also recently did a great job with the iOS port of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Virtuos is also known for producing great art assets for major titles, including the blockbuster The Last of Us, NBA 2K13 and Might and Magic: Heroes VI.
The remakes may have been delayed, but knowing that it’s now in the hands of Virtuos must be relaxing for fans.
Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD launched in Japan in December and currently are slated to release in North America on March 28, 2014.
