A recent tweet made by Codemasters suggests that the developer has multiple rally titles in the works for 2014.
Discussing their plans for the New Year on Twitter, Codemasters asked fans what they would “like to see from us in 2014.” One fan replied: “definitely looking forward to a new dirt/rally game. But you’re working on one already aren’t you?”
“Well we’re not,” Codemasters replied, “not working on one ;)”.
It’s been quite a while since we last saw a rally title from Codemasters for the consoles. DiRT Showdown released in May 2012, after which Codemasters went with a Colin McRae Rally on the iOS. Last year we saw to the release of Grid 2 and then F1 2013.
Codemasters has already mentioned working on another F1 installment for 2014 that will be aimed at next-gen hardware. As for the second game, it could be another installment to the Dirt franchise.
Whatever it may be, the developer confirmed that it has no plans to abandon support for the last-generation platforms which suggests the new games will be released for all of the platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
