Square Enix has confirmed that every single PlayStation 4 user will be granted access to the beta of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Prior to this it was assumed that PS4 users would have to “apply beforehand” to have a chance at the beta. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. David Yang, senior PR manager for the publisher told DualShockers that every PS4 owner can rest with ease.
Regardless of whether they have an existing account for the game or not. Once the beta starts, access will be granted to everyone. Additionally, no one is required to purchase or pre-order the title to take part. All you need is a PlayStation 4 console to enter the beta.
That’s different from what happened with the PC and PS3 betas, which allowed only a small number of selected players to try the game out. The PS4 version must be looking really good if Square Enix is considering letting everyone in.
The beta is said to commence on February 22, 2014; the same day when the console releases in Japan. You can bet on it that a horde of new players is going to be rampaging through to try Final Fantasy XIV on that day.
