EA Servers are Offline Followed by a DDOS Attack, Will be Back Soon

Electronics Arts’ Origins servers are currently offline courtesy of a DDOS Attack. The notorious individual or may be a group that goes by the name of DERP has took the responsibility of the attack.

Users across the internet have confirmed that Origin servers are completely down with digital service being inaccessible both via web and in-game stores. Furthermore, users are also experiencing some difficulties in playing EA titles on various platforms. The news came from the DERP’s official Twitter account which reads,

“We’ve directed the Gaben Laser Beam @ the EA login servers. Origin #offline.”

The attack is also confirmed via several titles’ official Twitter/blogs like FIFA 14 and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Electronic Arts has also confirmed this on EA Support Twitter by stating:

“We’re working to resolve connectivity/login issues affecting various platforms/games. Thank you for your patience. Updates when available.”

This hacker/hacking group has been infamous for DDOS Attacks on titles like DOTA 2, League of Legends, Planetside 2, and others. Although not much is known about the motive of the attackers, they seem to consider Origin as a rival of Steam.

Update: It has been confirmed that EA servers are back online and those who are still experiencing issues are encouraged to contact EA.
