Princess Zelda Joins The Roster of Super Smash Bros.

According to a recent Miiverse post; in order to celebrate the launch of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds in Japan, Princess Zelda will be joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

It’s pretty evident from the released screenshots that Zelda won’t be needing any kind of assistance from Link this time around; as the princess comes equipped with her armor from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. As for her transformation into Sheik, it’s still not known.

The game has been under development for quite a long time now and except for an E3 trailer; much of the gameplay details are not known. According to Masahiro Sakurai, it’s taking long because the studio wants fans to enjoy a polished game instead of a rushed one.

Previously, it was rumored that the game has been slated for a Spring 2014 release on both Wii U and 3DS. However, Sakurai has declared this rumor false by stating that a release date is yet to be announced.

Super Smash Bros. has promised to feature a ton of characters from Nintendo and other franchises; some of the prominent are Luigi, Mario, Peach, Sonic, Megaman, and many others.
