Good tidings for the morning folks! Word just came in that one of the most anticipated games by Ubisoft, Tom Clancy’s The Division PC version is going to be much more than just a port. The developer has assured that you expect a fully optimized PC version for the game.
The news came out through a Q&A session at the game’s official website where The Division Dev Team was asked how Tom Clancy’s The Division PC version would look since the game was being designed keeping next gen consoles in mind. The response was quite promising:
“As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC. You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.”
The game was confirmed to get a PC version back in August but back then it wasn’t sure whether it was going to be just a port. Usually when a game is initially developed for the consoles, versions for other platforms are mere port ins. So this comes as a cheerful surprise.
This leaves out just one bit that we wish Ubisoft will take care of. The game is supposed to be released to the consoles in the fourth quarter of 2014 and we would love to see the PC version shipped on the same dates.
So, Tom Clancy’s The Division PC version is going to be the real deal, how do you like that?
Oh and we have got some new screenshots boasting the Snowdrop Engine’s capabilities:
