Blizzard today announced that they are revamping their recruit-a-friend system for World of Warcraft. This Christmas, veterans can invite a friend over and in turn choose their own reward from a list of exclusive mounts and pets. The offer is attractive because it includes items that were previously unavailable in specific regions.
To enlist a friend simply send out an invite from the in-game social interface. Upon acceptance of the invite and creation of an account, your account will officially be linked in the RAF system.
You can then receive bonus experience when playing together and can also instantly teleport to one another. Additionally, the recruited player can grant the veteran player extra levels.
Once a friend signs up, you will be rewarded with a month of free game time. If he purchases the game and a month of subscription, you’ll be entitled to a choice of one of eight epic mounts or pets, including the Emerald Hippogryph.

In related news the World of Warcraft movie has been delayed to March of 2016.
At BlizzCon 2013 the movie’s visual effects director, Bill Westenhofer, said that the team plans to use a mix of live-action and CG effects to create a “gritty, muddy, down in the dirt, covered in grime” feel that he compared to Gladiator. “The swords that are being built are the biggest swords that a human can wield,” Westenhofer said.
