Kingdom Come Deliverance, New Medieval RPG Announced by Warhorse

You have had a Roman Empire based third person role playing game in the form of Ryse: Son of Rome. How about another medieval RPG based around the Roman Empire? Catapults, horses and swords is all what Kingdom Come Deliverance is all about.

Warhorse, the developer behind Mafia, Mafia 2 and Operation Flashpoint announced hours ago that they will be bringing “the open world to the old world” with their latest project Kingdom Come Deliverance.

The announcement post made on the studio’s website boasts of a game that will bring revolutionary melee combat to an open world action adventure role playing game. Studio Creative Director Dan Vávra explained their development process:

“The team’s ambition for Kingdom Come Deliverance is growing this ever-maturing sandbox genre in a believable, real-world context and scope. To that end, we’re harnessing CryENGINE®3, nonlinear narrative, varied freedom in character progression, and a consequence-laden living world in ways that have never been possible until now.”

Storyline of Kingdom Come Deliverance will obviously be explained in great detail after some days but what we know so far is that it will be based around a quest for power. There will be no magic, Fantasy or mythical aspects in the game and the combat will be period accurate.

It is certainly going to be interesting to see how Warhorse pulls off a game that is based purely on the realistic elements and historically authentic themes and warfare instead of overtones from out of the world.
