Ace Combat Infinity and Soul Calibur: Lost Swords Delayed To Next Year

Citing the quality of the product, officials at Namco Bandai have released a statement saying that these two free-to-play titles will be delayed to 2014; Soul Calibur: Lost Swords and Ace Combat Infinity.

The games are supposed to be PlayStation 3 exclusives and were supposed to be released this year, hope you weren’t planning to get your hands on them any time soon.

Ace Combat Infinity was officially announced on September 19, 2013 after a lengthy teaser campaign. It’s only the third Ace Combat game to officially take place on Earth, and is the first in the series to be free-to-play.

Soul Calibur: Lost Swords is technically a free-to-play game, though not really. The game will be “time-limited” where players must purchase tokens in order to continue playing the game beyond its initial demo hours. The game is single-player only.

I don’t know much about Soul Calibur or fighting games in general, but I do know about the Ace Combat game series. Specifically, Ace Combat 5: Unsung War really hit my 14-year-old heart in ways few games ever have.

I’ve been hoping for a new Ace Combat game that will recreate that experience, and so far I’m afraid they’ve all fallen a little short.
