Well, it has been a subject of hot debate that when Nintendo will bring its games and characters to the mobile world and looks like the company finally has something in their plans for it.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says that they are trying to bring a little taste of a Nintendo experience to smartphones.
Fils-Aime was talking to KING 5 recently where he was asked about their plans regarding the mobile market. He believes that the company’s philosophy that “Nintendo games are best played on Nintendo devices has not changed.”
He did divulge their plans of trying out way to use the billions of smartphones for marketing purposes. “We recognize that there are a lot of smartphones and tablets out there,” he continued “and so what we’re doing is we’re being very smart in how we use these devices as marketing tools for our content.”
They are planning to launch a largely marketing oriented activity that could drive the customers back to Nintendo hardware, but he said that they have “done little things where there’s some element of gameplay — a movement, a shaking, something like that that reminds you of the full blown experience.”
That was pretty vague to be honest, but we do have something to look out for in this regard now.
They have their very own Miiverse social platform, certain Pokemon apps like Pokemon TV and Pokedex; what do you think is their plan this time?
