This is like the fifth news story that has come out from Nintendo today, and it surely is a good one. Reminiscent of the old days, Nintendo announced a new game for the famed brother of Mario – Dr. Luigi.
Luigi has decided to follow the footsteps of his brother and we will see Dr. Luigi in action on December 31 when the game arrives at the Wii U eShop.
A new Operation L mode will let the players attack viruses with an L shaped capsule (basically two capsules made into one). They will come with three of the same colors that will be connected vertically and wipe out viruses when they fall. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said:
It’s harder to get a game over [in L-capsule mode], so I think even players less comfortable with how the game works will enjoy this mode.
It also comes with a 2-player online biological warfare mode and conventional Dr. Mario like modes featuring online play.
North Americans better be ready to see the newly PhD’d Dr. Luigi popping pills onto their Wii U screen. Europe will have to wait until January 15 though.
