Microsoft pretty much dominated the launch of next-gen consoles in terms of titles available for play but this doesn’t mean the company will be taking a step back and let things run its course. An earlier job posting by Microsoft Game Studios suggests that the studio is working on a “new title based on a beloved franchise for Windows 8.”
The job description doesn’t mention what game or genre it’s going to be, but Microsoft Game Studios is looking for a senior engineer who can work on “building a robust and highly scalable cloud service that is central to the game experience.” Currently both Titanfall and Forza Motorsport 5 make use of Azure cloud features on the Xbox One, and it’s only normal for the studio to include it on this mysterious PC title.
Unfortunately the listing suggests that the game is exclusive to Windows 8 on PC. I take it not many are going to be impressed with the studio’s decision who more or less have opted to stick to Windows 7. Halo: Spartan Assault was released the year for the PC and it was limited to Windows 8.
Recently a job posting was uncovered that had both Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios working together on what looks like a Fable Legends MMO. Either that or it’s an entirely new IP. Could the two job postings be linked?
