Sony has been rumored to be working on a PS4 Head-Mounted Display. While the company has been quiet on the matter, patents dug earlier say otherwise.
Today a NeoGAF user discovered that the company has filed another patent for the same technology. It should be noted that while the patent was published today, it was originally filed on June 12, 2012 in Japan and March 13, 2013 in the US.
The user also highlighted some interesting aspects of the HMD. It can provide information on the user’s position, such as what distance it is from an object using a position sensor and what posture the user has.
An additional camera may be added to the head mount for capturing an image of the user’s eye.
This will take into account pupil movement and blinking of the user. Also a biological information acquisition sensor was mentioned for gathering details such as body temperature, pulse, blood components, perspiration, brain waves, and cerebral blood flow.
You can head over to the original NeoGAF post to read the entire patent and go through the various figures provided.
