We saw the gaming community go haywire over the fact that the prices of next generation title on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were slightly higher than what was expected. We then saw Sony’s games’ prices slashed down a bit and sadly expected the same from Microsoft. Contrary to that, Microsoft has increased the prices of exclusive Xbox One digital games.
So far, we have seen three exclusive titles on Xbox One; Forza 5, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome. Now these games were previously priced at £44.99 (a price that was received as high by some) but now, they have been upped to £49.99 (up from $54.99 to $59.99). This comes contrasting to what Sony’s PSN titles received.
What worries me more is that the coming months Quantum Break, Fable Legends and the currently untitled Halo game are going to join the Xbox One digital games among others and this price hike will be affecting all of them too.
Previously we have reported how EA had reduced the prices of their digital titles followed by Ubisoft on PlayStation 4. The prices of AAA exclusive titles for PlayStation 4 will be talked about when Killzone Shadow Fall, DriveClub and others like The Order: 1886 or Infamous: Second Son release.
Do you think that the Xbox One Digital Games prices deserved the additional $5?
