SEGA recently released two of their classic games titles under their 3D Classics series but it looks like they have plans to inflate those numbers pretty soon. A third game was announced under what could be the second set of the same 3D Classics series.
This time around you get to revisit an old air combat game in the shape of 3D After Burner 2!
Some of the old timers among you might recognize the title from arcades back in late 80’s or the early 90’s. After Burner 2 was originally released in 1987 and came as a jet cockpit, sit down cabinet arcade game. You rode an F-14 Tomcat Fighter Jet to escape the line of fire and gun down enemies.
Don’t know what I am talking about? Well, wait for a week until the game releases and then tell us what you think. 3D After Burner 2 is bound to release for Nintendo 3DS eShop in Japan on December 18.
The game will also feature a Moving Cabinet Mode that mimics the original game where the cabinet that moved according to the movements of the jet. It also comes with a Special Mode with a lock-on shooting system that focuses more on the dogfights with a new skillset.
