Tomb Raider Definitive Edition Announced for Japan at a Cheaper Rate

News for the upgraded port of Tomb Raider to next generation is not over yet. Tomb Raider Definitive Edition will be making its way to Japan too. Though the Japanese version will release later than the rest of the world, it will be cheaper.

According to a post by Siliconera, the game will be releasing initially to PlayStation 4 as a launch title on February 22, 2014. Since the Xbox One does not have a specific release date for Japan yet we are assuming it will be a little later than that of PlayStation 4’s. Nevertheless, whenever the console launches the game will be released to it as well.

“Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is so named as it’s exactly what we’ve custom built for the Xbox One and PlayStation4 system consoles,” said Scot Amos, Executive Producer at Crystal Dynamics. “The new hardware let us finally express the original vision in all of its glory. This was a continued labor of love. We pulled the game apart and rebuilt it with painstaking detail to add enhanced visual storytelling but without changing the award winning tale.”

What’s more interesting about Tomb Raider Definitive Edition Japan release is that that the game will be priced lower than its western regions’ price standard. If you are in Japan you will be able to buy the game for 4,800 Yen which is equivalent to $46. The game has been priced at $59.99 in North America.

Also, when the reboot had first come out its price was high out of proportions at $77, so it is an impressive saving if you look at it like that.

Square Enix has boasted of upgraded visuals and a lot of extra goodies with the game, let us see what becomes of it when it releases in North America on January 28, 2014 or Japan on February 22, 2014.
