Earlier today, United Front Games uploaded an image on their official Twitter page showing a sweetly decorated Christmas tree on a desk and what looks to be a blurry shot of Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars.
“A li’l bit of Christmas on designer Matt’s desk :)” tweeted the official United Front Games account.
The game was officially confirmed by the studio in October and will take place in the same Sleeping Dogs universe.
The sequel has been promised to be released sometime next year but United Front has yet to reveal the related platforms. Hopefully, the studio will be targeting the next-gen platforms, as well as current ones, with improved visuals and enticing open world.
Square Enix will be returning to publish the game and who if we recall were actually brought in to save the original title altogether when Activision decided to cancel the project for not being of ‘sufficient quality’.
The game was originally set to be called True Crime: Hong Kong but was later renamed by Square Enix to Sleeping Dogs. The game then went on to sell 1.75 million units in its first eight months with Square Enix calling it a failure for not meeting the expected sales target.
Regardless, the title was a hit with the community and I for one am anxiously waiting for its sequel.
