One of the major highlights of this year’s E3 event was Electronic Arts announcing to have DICE take the lead on the Star Wars: Battlefront series. The announcement was of course met with thunderous applause and a short teaser trailer was shown which was nothing really but told us that the game is very early in its development cycle.
Since then fans have been waiting for information on the upcoming title but EA has been quiet on the matter. Yesterday though the Microsoft Store website listed the game for Xbox One, including the following description:
Relive and participate in all of the classic Star Wars battles like never before. Play as one of a number of different soldier types, jump into any vehicle, man any turret on the battlefront, and conquer the galaxy, planet by planet.
We can gather that Star Wars: Battlefront is going to include some of the iconic battles that were featured in the original films. It’s also highly possible that EA will be bent on releasing plenty of DLC for more scenes from the films as well.
Taking into consideration that the game’s release is going to coincide with Episode VII, scenes from the new film may actually be the first DLC. The Season Pass for this title is definitely going to be a must buy.
It’s unknown as to when Star Wars: Battlefront will release but the site is currently open to take pre-orders.
