The first gameplay trailer for MXGP – The Official Motocross Videogame has been released. This game is currently under production via developer Milestone.
We get to see the Maggiora Track from 7-times World Champion Antonio Cairoli, who will also be featured in the game. He rides for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team and will daunt the event on a KTM 350 SX-F.
As this is motocross, the track is mostly made up of dirt, making riders skid. Action can either be seen in third person or can switch to a first-person view.
Laps feature a mixture of tough to handle U-turns and a few big jumps that detail the physics engine. For instance, taking a big turn can cause the character to put down their leg for support.
In the distance, we can also hear the announcer echoing through the speakers during these open air events.
According to Milestone, the track was recreated on a 1:1 scale for optimal realism. This was also applied to bikes, drivers and their behavior.
More importantly, the game should also feature track deformation, meaning that driving grooves can change as riders pass them.
MXGP is the next title from the studio, after picking up the torch from the MotoGP series once more. They had been absent to the series for a few years, while Capcom took over. They’re now fully working on their specialized racing series again.
MXGP will arrive in spring of 2014 for Playstation 3, PS Vita, Xbox 360 and PC.
