Seems Like EA Canada is Working on a Next-Gen Open World Star Wars Game

A job listing from last month reveals that EA Canada is currently looking for an Animation director to be part of a development team that’s undertaking an open-world Star Wars game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

“EA Canada is looking for an experienced Animation director to help define and deliver on the vision for a major new next gen open world action game,” reads the listing.

EA Canada though is not the only one looking for developers to help in a Star Wars game. Visceral Studios is searching for an “Executive Producer Star Wars”.

It’s possible that both EA Canada and Visceral are going to be working in collaboration on the same project, seeing that Visceral has experience in open world titles and that EA revealed earlier this year that the studio was working on a next-gen Star Wars project.

This makes it a total of three studios under EA that are working on Star Wars, with DICE being the third one. We’ve only been treated with a teaser for Star Wars: Battlefront so far. The game is in its early stages of development and reveals are not going to happen any time soon.

The thought of playing a next-gen blockbuster open world Star Wars game is just mouth watering. Fans of the franchise previously were looking forward to Star Wars 1313 but it was eventually scrapped. What would you want from a next-gen Star Wars game?
