Wildstar: The New Dev Diary Explains the Working of the “Stalker” Class

A new character trailer for Wildstar is available in the latest “DevSpeak” feature, which has some of the developers talk about the PC roleplaying game in comical fashion. Its latest quirky class to be detailed is called Stalker.

As the name may suggest, this character will rely mostly on a stealthy approach to ensure its victory within the online multiplayer realm. One of its main characteristics is that it can turn invisible. It’s compared to a ninja. Then again, developers also boast that it’s a cross between Batman, Wolverine and Predator.

From the caped crusader inspiration, it will receive a line of advanced gadgets. That will allow Stalkers to stun target or confine their movement.

Wolverine will lend his claws to the class, to perform quick melee combos. These come in many different shapes and sizes.

Aside from the Predator’s cloaking ability, which also works in combat, Stalkers are also outfitted with futuristic nanoskin. This allows them to unlock various traits to help overcome their medium armor sets.

Abilities include the ability to siphon health, absorb damage or even setup a clone persona.

With a wide selection of skills available, the video wants to show that creating a class in Wildstar can come with some flexibility in its class system. Even Stalkers can become tanks with the right allocation.

At the end of the video, there is also some sort of talking yak for some reason. Frankly, you don’t even need a reason for that.

Wildstar is the latest project from NCsoft, who previously worked on the successful Guild Wars 2 franchise.
