For some time now, Guerrilla Games has been rumored to be working on an open world role-playing game for the PlayStation 4.
While the company itself has refused to comment on the rumor, you can understand why Guerrilla Games suddenly hiring Fallout: New Vegas lead writer John Gonzales has gotten everyone riled up.
The hiring was noticed today by a NeoGAF user who found out that Gonzales in fact joined Guerrilla Games in September.
Leaving behind Obsidian Entertainment, he is now the Killzone: Shadow Fall studio’s lead writer. During his, career Gonzales has also worked as a lead designer at Warner Bros. Games, lead narrative designer at Ubisoft, and writer at Outrage Entertainment.
To make matters more interesting, his updated LinkedIn profile reads: “Narrative designer with extensive in-house game development experience. My focus is storytelling for open-world role-playing games. Because they are awesome.”
The mention of open-world RPGs could really mean that Gonzales has been hired to write up a great storyline and world for an upcoming PlayStation 4 game. However, until Guerrilla Games comments on the matter, simply consider this as another passing rumor.
Killzone: Shadow Fall was released alongside the PlayStation 4 on the 15th of this month. While the game got pretty average reviews, it so far is the best looking next-gen game out there. If not for the story, do check it out for the pretty visuals alone.
