Defective Xbox One Owners get a Free Game from Microsoft as Compensation
Did you think you got unlucky when you received a defective Xbox One with the infamous Disc Drive issue? Well, think again.
Microsoft has announced that not only will you get a replacement for the defect; your inconvenience will be ironed out through a free game!
The news initially came out through a twitter user who said that after he reported a defect in the disc drive to Microsoft he was provided with an apology accompanied by the digital code of a game of his choice. It was later confirmed by Microsoft through an official statement.

“While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game,” reads the statement. “We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios.”
You will be able to choose between four different Xbox One exclusive titles: Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse, or Zoo Tycoon. You choose the one you want, tell Microsoft customer support and you will receive the digital code to make your life easier while you wait for the replacement.
Of course your disc drive won’t work properly until you get a replacement, and you don’t want to sit cursing the defective Xbox One you bought, so until then the digital game would be the best that could happen to you – wont it?
Microsoft has also ensured that the problem in question has affected a very small number of Xbox One consoles so it is nothing you need to be worried about. Heck, who would be if they are going to get it fixed and to top that up, get a free game.
