LEGO The Hobbit Only Tells First Two Stories Of The Trilogy, Out In 2014
There is yet another LEGO game afoot with the announcement of LEGO The Hobbit. Developer TT Games, which makes all these games, will work towards bringing the game to PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita and the next generation consoles Xbox One and Playstation 4 in 2014. Everyone is served.
In this adventure, the story will follow the first two films from the Hobbit trilogy from director Peter Jackson. Players will meet events from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, as well as the yet-to-release The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, which will land in theaters on December 13, 2013.
Characters will include Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, Thorin Oakenshield and their allies. So, you’ll also be able to play with all the dwarves, Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori. That’s a mouthful.
Many of the locations shown off in the films will be accessible here as well, such as Bag End, Hobbiton and the High Pass in The Misty Mountains. Throughout their exploration, characters can participate in treasure quests, solve puzzles and fight a legion of Orcs, Trolls and so on.
Still, with the combat in the LEGO series, don’t expect it to be a complex battle system. Most enemies simply disassemble after a few seconds of button mashing.
To complement the release, LEGO will release a few additional building sets themed on the movie, which offer small constructions such as Gollum’s lair and bigger scenes like a huge battlefield.
